Small DIY - unique business-cards
I made this batch at 2010. I wanted to do something very unique - I only looked for my audience and wanted to made very special, interesting one-of-a-kind business-cards.
I used:
- artistic plane-table for paper fixation. If you haven't, just use plastic or plywood surface with size little bit bigger then your sheet, fix paper there by tape;
- Watercolors and watercolor brushes. You also can yse acrylic or tempera colors, but not gouache - skin wetness would not be good for gouache painting.
- Metal ruler;
- Box cutter;
- Needle and treads for embroidery;
- Black liner or pen , tracing paper - if you planning made text by hands. Or printer - it would be easy solution. I will write about it below.
I fixed watercolor paper on plane table and sketched by pencil simple abstract pattern. Choose a colors and begat to paint.
You can made it simple - use brush, sponge or teeth-brush for making abstraxt textured spots, and small brush for detaling. You also can utilise not best artis or paper watercolors pallettes.
Mane part of this paper made in wet style, but I use dry painting for detalisations. Standart business cards size is 90x50 mm, so make sure that all your future cards had enough details.
My paper is ready - its a little bit pity to cut it.
But idea should be first.
Business-cards are cutted and I began to decorate it.
I made decorative seam on long side of every cards - different seams. Ends of tread I left free, cut it near 5-10 mm from paper.
To write text I use tapyng-paper. Wrote real-size template of all texts and cover reverse of tapyng-paper soft pencil etchng. Its like copy-paper - so I use this template to made every texts by hands from averse and reverse.
I hadn't printer that time - for my pity. Now I can simply cut my paper like A4 and print on it all texts.
But it was done and used.
